It’s just a great book, that happens to have been written by a well-known name – don’t let it put you off (if it would) he’s back and better than ever! He’s a SLOW reader, so I thought it would be week, if not months, before I could dissect it with him. I enjoyed this book so much the second I was finished I passed it to my husband and said, quick, read this, I want to talk to you about it.

There were two things I really enjoyed in this book firstly I learnt heaps – about stuff I had no idea I wanted to know about and secondly the focus of the book seemed to change subtly throughout the novel, so whilst you were immersed in one character at one stage of the book, you’d find you’d almost forgotten about them and switched allegiances without noticing – and this happened more than once. The book was fast paced, but didn’t skip over important moments, it was snappy but didn’t feel disjointed. This is a story about books – about stealing books – expensive books and it was awesome.įrom the first pages I could not get enough. I mean, I’d enjoyed them once upon a time, but enough was enough.īut in this novel, I’d almost swear it wasn’t him writing! Firstly there was a strong female character throughout and not a courtroom to be seen. I thought I’d done my share of Grisham reading and it was behind me – after all there were only so many “young lawyer take son the established legal world/big corporation” storylines I could manage.
